8.

What a week! Kian’s birthday started with a surprise lunch from McDonald’s at school, basketball at the Y, Dave and Buster’s with cousins, dinner, and ended the week with a literal “bang” at Aberdeen Proving Ground.

As he wrapped up his second flag football season, his team won the championship! They finished 9–0, scoring 242 total points and only allowing 30. Kian also scored his first touchdown!

Good Enough

Today was “the best” because Kian had math class at the end of the day instead of the beginning.

Dad: Why was math at the end of the day instead?

Kian: Because we had to take the Math Inventory test. There were some multiplication questions that I skipped because we didn’t learn that yet and we’re allowed to skip three times.

Dad: How do you think you did?

Kian: Well, I think I did good enough to go to third grade.

Dad: That’s awesome! (holding in laughter)

Coca Cola

Kian: Hey Ate, can you say Coca Cola without touching your lips? Because I did it like ONE time. It’s so hard.

Kira: (looks around confused) Uhhh YES.

Mom/Dad: (cracking up)

Dad: Kian, say it normally. Your lips don’t touch when you say Coca Cola anyway!

What day is today?

Kian hasn’t been feeling well so he took Thursday and Friday off from school. By Friday night he was feeling better.

Kian: I think I’m ready to go back to school tomorrow.

(This is probably the first time he has ever wanted to go to school.)

Daddy: That’s great to hear!… But tomorrow is Saturday.

Kian: Oh. Well. I guess my weekend started already.
